Based in Vancouver, Canada, RocketChicken is a boutique studio thriving at the crossroad between mobile gaming and real life experience. RocketChicken’s Motive AR platform is enabling an entirely new genre of games that are played while interacting with the real world.

RocketChicken’s launch title CodeRunner has been lauded as one of the most innovative games on iPhone to date and served as a proving ground for the technology that powers Motive. Building on that success, the team continues to fuse alternate reality storytelling and cutting-edge technology with the pending launch of CodeRunner: MINDWAR.

Ryan Chapman

President & Tech Lead

Ryan Chapman has developed mobile, server, and platform software for Microsoft, TiVo, and several start-ups. He graduated with distinction from UBC’s Engineering Physics program and holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Ryan’s experience ranges from developing embedded and mobile device software at PMC-Sierra, Glenayre Electronics, and Microsoft to building high-availability, high-capacity server infrastructure for TiVo. This diverse background gives him the insight and skillset to take advantage of the unlimited potential offered by the fusion of mobile devices and cloud computing.

Jeff Macpherson

Story Director

Forbes Magazine calls Jeff “one of the first breakout stars in the world of Internet television”. He is the creator of one of the first and most successful web series: Tiki Bar TV. It became the most downloaded show, holding #1 in the iTunes top 100 chart for four months. Steve Jobs used Tiki Bar TV to demonstrate the Video iPod during his keynote speech. Jeff has produced television commercials for Toyota, Hyundai and LG. He was a writer on two feature films for First Look Home Entertainment and directed the feature Come Together. He has spoken at Macworld San Francisco, Forbes MEET Los Angeles, ADTech, CES Las Vegas and the CFTPA Ottawa conference.

Michael Ferraro

Producer & Game Designer

Michael Ferraro helped launch the world’s first ever computer animated TV series, Reboot. First as an animator then as director, Michael developed new technology and animation techniques for its parent company Mainframe Entertainment. He directed iconic brand series including Transformers and Barbie. Michael then joined the largest video game publisher in the world, Electronic Arts to which brought his unique storytelling, directing, and technology to the projects Def Jam Vendetta and Def Jam Fight For NY. He left EA with a small group of coworkers to form a game startup, which was soon acquired by Disney. The company grew from 8 to over 200, and shipped Turok for XBox 360. Michael recently shipped Modnation Racers for Sony, a racing game focused on user-created content.
